We love the local markets with their seasonal produce, bio Gaillac wines, fresh brebis or chèvre cheeses. We strive to maximise the natural powers of the sun, the water, the land…
If you love the tranquility and calming effect of water, this natural source abounds here. Choose from the magical experience of wild swimming in the refreshing River Seye surrounded by damselflies and the sounds of flowing water; enjoy gazing upon 70m long natural pool (millpond) beside the water-lilies in the company of dragonflies and baby fish; or of course there is our 10m swimming pool with its charming terrace surrounded colourful plants, fragrant scents, pots and buddleia brimming with butterflies.
Read a book quietly beside the millpond and catch a flash of turquoise from a Kingfisher. Spend a lazy afternoon in the shade along the river banks, fishing for trout or having a picnic or glass of wine. Sunbathe and swim, walk in the surrounding valleys. Listen out for golden orioles, buzzards, cuckoos, woodpeckers, or tawny owls at night. Explore medieval hilltop villages and ruined chateaux. Kayak along the Aveyron and picnic beside the river. Inhale the scents of thyme and lavender while watching butterflies & bees. Gaze at the stars and enjoy the sounds of summer as cicadas bring the night alive…

Discovering this stunning property, Le Moulin Vert gave us a perfect place to enjoy the surrounding markets and villages, the imposing gorges, alluring rivers, and dramatic views.
Nicki and Brendan provide a historic and stylish space for their guests with all of the amenities. Every detail is tastefully picked and placed from the bed linens to the dishtowels. We loved the artwork and Nicki's photography displayed upstairs. We also enjoyed creating in the beautiful kitchen with local products. The whole property and the house continued to reveal its beauty at every turn. We swam in their stretch of the River Seye, which was a refreshing respite after a day of exploring.
Nicki and Brendan were wonderful hosts who were kind and pleasant. They thought of everything one would need to feel at home and comfortable in this artfully embedded gite and presented us with great information to traverse the nearby terrain. I hope to return to this dreamy place that pulled on my heartstrings

Wow! Le Moulin Vert is absolutely stunning. We stayed for a week. Could easily have stayed longer. It’s everything the pictures suggest and more. The gite is comfortable and tasteful. It’s all done with style and generosity. Lovely welcome of local wine, some bread and a few breakfast items. Candles provided too. On a chilly evening we had the wood burner on and on a hot day we relaxed by the pool. Most of our time was spent just sitting on the terrace of the gite in front of the lake. We saw and heard lots of wildlife including otters, red squirrels, cuckoos, owls, lizards…. There are plenty of days out nearby to beautiful mediaeval villages and historic castles. Najac was particularly amazing. Bruniquel gorgeous too. Lovely restaurants nearby and a fabulous Sunday market 10 mins drive away at St Antonin Noble Val.
Nicki and Brendan were extremely helpful, responsive, provided lots of information and a very warm welcome. They were also very discreet and left us to enjoy ourselves.

Nicki and Brendan's place in Varen is truly magical. I wish I had more than just words to describe my experience as they can't begin to do it justice-but here I go. The property is an old mill that makes you feel as if you are sleeping on water creating feelings of enchantment and serenity. We went in April when everything was beginning to blossom - we saw shades of green we never knew existed and even met a mom with her baby ducklings! I can only imagine what the pool is like in the summer.
The house itself is a perfect blend of luxury while staying true to its historic roots-transporting you to another time. One night we decided to stay in, light candles & take a bath with wine. It was perfect. And then falling into the comfy bed afterward was a plush dream. The skylights!
Overall, I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a romantic or peaceful getaway. Not only did Nicki thoroughly communicate, she went above and beyond to make my special occasion perfect.

This Airbnb is truly incredible. The elegance of the inside was only matched by the lovely and idyllic surroundings. The Airbnb sits right on a stunning little lake and, in case that is not enough, a gorgeous pool is just a couple steps from your door. A pool which begs to be sat by with a bottle of red and a French baguette on a summers day. If you want a place that makes you forgot your troubles and long for a slower life in the countryside of France this is your place. The pictures honestly don’t do it justice. As a cherry on top Nicki and Brendan are the kindest and most thoughtful hosts. Would highly recommend!

Such a fabulous holiday! We spent a week at Le Moulin Vert in July 2022. Nicki and Brendan have done a superb refurbishment, the gite has been beautifully done and retains all of its original charm and character but with modern facilities and sumptuous furnishings. Set in huge tranquil gardens with a swimming pool and its own private stream, perfect for a cooling midday dip. We spent hours on the veranda enjoying the local food and wine whilst soaking up the glorious ever changing colours over the "bief" (millpond - more like a lake!) and catching glimpses of the kingfishers sweeping down for their dinner. We spent happy days exploring the surrounding countryside, full of stunning medieval towns and villages, with bustling local markets and quaint cobbled streets, climbing around ancient chateaux and canoeing down the Averyon River through spectacular gorges and stopping to swim and dive into the crystal clear waters and picnic on the banks. We can't wait to come back!
